Chasing a sporting or athletic goal

Big goals need a body that can keep up.

A marathon, an Ironman, a season or a new PB. We look at the whole training picture, not just the sore spot, and work out how to keep you moving towards it.

We get it

Being told to stop is the last thing you want to hear.

When you're deep in a training block, complete rest is rarely the first answer. Where it's appropriate, we modify training, keep your fitness ticking over and build you back to full load. When a short break genuinely is the right call, you'll get the reasoning and a plan to come back.

Who we see.

Competitive or recreational, first event or fiftieth.

Runners and triathletes

Marathons, Ironman, parkrun PBs.

  • Calf, Achilles, shin and knee niggles
  • Long-run and race-week planning
  • The Runner's Assessment for a deeper look

Gym and strength

Bigger lifts, more sessions.

  • Shoulders, backs and hips that won't tolerate load
  • Exercise swaps that keep you training
  • Progressions back to full weight

Golf and team sport

Eighteen holes, a full season.

  • Back and hip rotation for golf
  • Hamstrings, ankles and contact knocks
  • Return-to-play planning

What we actually do.

Concrete, practical and built around your training plan.

  • Clinical and physical assessment. History, examination and the training behind the problem.
  • Hands-on treatment. Where it helps, alongside everything else.
  • Movement and capacity testing. Strength, range and hopping or loading tests, measured so we can re-test.
  • Strength and rehab programming. Dosed and progressed like training, not a sheet of random exercises.
  • Training-load discussions. What carries on, what changes for now, and when it comes back.
  • Return-to-sport planning. Staged steps back to full training and racing.
  • Working with your coach. With your permission, we'll share findings with your coach, PT or other providers.

Resolve, Restore, Build.

How we think about care. Start where you are. If nothing's wrong, you start at Build.

Resolve

Settle what's in the way

Assessment, treatment and a clear explanation, so a niggle doesn't derail the block.

Restore

Back to full training

Strength, tolerance and confidence rebuilt to what your goal needs.

Build

Room for what's next

Extra capacity for a bigger race, a heavier season or a new distance.

Sport, in practice.

We start with what you need to keep doing, then work out what's getting in the way.

Questions, answered.

Will you tell me to stop training?

Only if that's genuinely the right call, and you'll get the reasoning. The default is working out what you can safely keep doing while the problem is dealt with.

Will you work with my coach or PT?

Yes. With your permission, Tim is happy to share what he finds and agree the plan with whoever writes your program.

I'm not injured. Can I still come in?

Yes. You start at the Build stage: testing where your strength is now and planning for what's next.

Can you guarantee a faster race?

No one honestly can. What we can do is help you manage niggles, build strength and plan your load, so your body is less likely to be the thing that holds you back.

Protect your momentum.

First visits are 45 minutes. No referral needed.
