For Runners

Keep training. We'll handle the niggles.

Scarborough's runner-friendly chiro. We modify training instead of cancelling it, and we treat your race calendar like it matters, because it does.

Worried you'll be told to stop running?

It is the main reason runners avoid getting a niggle looked at. You have a race on the calendar, the kilometres are banked, and the last thing you want is someone telling you to shut it all down for six weeks.

Modify, don't stop.

Our default position is the opposite. Complete rest is rarely the answer for running injuries, and it is almost never the answer runners will actually follow. So instead of cancelling your training, we modify it: adjust the load, change the surfaces, swap sessions, add the strength work that is missing, and keep you moving while the problem settles. Stopping entirely is the last resort, not the first suggestion.

Tim is a runner and an Ironman finisher with the Melbourne Marathon on his own calendar this October. He knows exactly what a training block costs, because he is in one.

The Runner's Assessment ($295)

A 90-minute deep dive for runners who keep hitting the same niggles, are returning from injury, or are building toward something bigger. Ninety minutes, $295, no upsell at the end.

What’s actually in it: a proper conversation about your running history and goals · a review of your recent training load and where it spiked · strength testing of the muscles that do the work when you run · a head-to-toe movement screen · a gait check · and a written take-home plan that tells you exactly what to build next — yours to keep, whether or not you ever book again.

It’s for you if: the same niggle keeps coming back, you’re rebuilding after injury or time off, or you’ve signed up for something big and want to know your body can cash the cheque. It’s not for you if: something hurts right now and you just want it looked at — that’s a standard initial consult ($140), and it’s the faster, cheaper front door for acute pain.

And because this is written by someone who actually runs here: most of the sore shins and cranky knees we see come off the same few habits — the coastal path’s deceptively long gradual climbs, the camber along the Esplanade, and Saturday parkrun efforts pasted on top of a week that already had no easy days in it. Local roads, local mistakes, fixable patterns.

Not sure how big the problem is?

Take the free Athlete Injury Risk assessment. Two minutes, evidence-based, instant results, and it maps the sleep, load, stress, and recovery factors that quietly set runners up for injury. Results show instantly on screen — pop your email in if you’d like a copy to bring to an appointment.
